Our Design Philosophy

We don't believe in designing homes around a single look or the latest trend. Instead, we start with how you live, what you love, and what you want your home to feel like.
Our designs are layered, collected, and personal—mixing color, pattern, texture, natural materials, meaningful pieces, and a balance of old and new. Function comes first, but beauty is never far behind.
The goal is a home that feels thoughtfully designed without feeling precious: a place that reflects the people who live there, where you can live comfortably, welcome people in, and make memories for years to come.
The Story Behind Seasons for Design
Home has always been at the center of my work.
Before becoming an interior designer, I spent nearly 15 years as a clinical social worker. I helped foster youth return home, worked with people experiencing homelessness as they found a home, and supported individuals and families through some of the most challenging times in their lives. That work taught me a lot about people—and about how much our environment can impact the way we feel and live.
Design was also part of my life long before it became my career. My mother, Karen Lannan Wetherell, was an interior designer and kitchen and bath specialist. I grew up going to construction sites, furniture showrooms, and fabric shops with her, surrounded by the world of design.
When my mother passed away unexpectedly in 2020, it gave me pause to think about what I wanted the next chapter of my life to look like. I kept coming back to this idea of home—something that had been woven through both my career and my life. I began taking interior design classes at Montgomery College and eventually made the leap from social work into a second career in design.
Seasons 4 Design was the name of my mother's design business. When I founded my own studio, carrying the name forward as Seasons for Design felt like a small but meaningful way to honor her and the influence she had on my life and career.
Today, Seasons for Design has grown from just me into a small team, but its foundation remains deeply personal: a love of home, an understanding of people, and a belief that the spaces we live in can have a meaningful impact on our everyday lives.
Meet the Team

Every Seasons for Design project is personally led by Lauren, who guides the creative vision, design decisions, and overall direction from concept through installation. She is supported by a small team that helps manage the many details that happen throughout the design process and behind the scenes.
Keeping our studio intentionally small allows us to know our clients and their homes well while providing the organization and support needed to keep each project moving forward.

Our Approach
Thoughtful design. Thoughtfully managed.
We know that hiring an interior designer is an investment, and we don't take that trust lightly. Our clients want to be involved in creating their homes, but they don't want to manage every selection, measurement, vendor, order, and detail themselves. That's where we come in.
We listen, ask questions, narrow the options, and guide you through the decisions that matter. Behind the scenes, we manage the details and coordination required to turn the design into a finished home.
The process is collaborative, but our clients also hire us for our expertise. The best projects happen when there is open communication, mutual trust, and room for us to do what we do best.
